The Best Tactical Vest
In this post, we’re going to be talking about one of the most valuable additions to your tactical (or tacti-cool) arsenal: a tactical vest.
Our experts searched high and low to find the best tactical vests for the money that had all the right features, durability and comfort. When you’ve found the right tactical vest, you’re most likely going to want to keep it for a long time.
Without further delay, see below for our list of the best tactical vests on the market:
Made from 600 denier polyester for strength and comfort, this heavyweight vest comes with an included belt, five pouches capable of carrying ammo, including 3 designated for magazines, medium frame pistol holster, and a radio pouch on the left shoulder.
The rear panel is covered in MOLLE webbing for adding more pockets, and there is even a hydration pouch, though the bladder isn’t included.
The vest is customizable to fit a variety of sizes, up to a 44 inch waistline, though it’s probably designed more for smaller frame people. It tends to be on the small size, so if you are a bigger guy or gal, the fit is going to be tight and uncomfortable.
If you’re looking for a great value tactical vest with all the right features, then this is it.
Slightly lower price than the first choice, which is always a good thing, this tactical vest sports many of the same features. Shot-shell holders, multiple mag pouches. The holster is canted for easier cross draw capability, and you can even strap a double mag pouch directly to the holster.
The back includes a drag handle and heavy loop system for attaching extra gear. It even comes with extra pouches right on the belt. On the inside, you have two document pouches that are zippered to keep your map right where you want it. The back is fitted with a hydration pocket.
This one is really built for bigger guys, and the one size fits most system is fully adjustable, so you can have the perfect fit for your size and body shape. The vest is pretty stiff out of the box, but that can be fixed with a couple trips through the washing machine or just a few days of wearing it.
For around $50, you’re going to love it.
If you are big and tall, this is a great vest for you. It wears big on smaller frame people, no matter how much you adjust it, so keep that in mind. Constructed of heavy nylon, and super sturdy. The left side features a pistol holster for medium frame auto-loaders, 3 mag pouches, plus a backup pouch piggy-backed to the holster, and a radio pocket.
The right side has two larger pouches, and of course the shell holders over the emergency-kit pocket. Hydration pocket is standard on the back, as is a large velcro plate for identification patch. The belt has flashlight pockets.
Almost all of the pockets have some degree of adjustability for varying lengths of equipment. Multiple zippered mesh pockets on the inside are ready to hold your documents or maps, as well as a tablet, or anything else that is flat. The stitching on the vest is terrific, and with the heavy materials, it’s built tough, from the drag handle to the belt.
It also comes in several colors and camo patterns to suit most any need. We really love this tactical vest for the price.
I prefer MOLLE style webbing to the bigger stuff, but it functions well enough on the back of this tactical vest, which is constructed solid and covered in breathable mesh.
The zippered internal pockets include an ID pouch in addition to the normal stuff, and the snap-closure belt is lined with a flashlight pocket. The front is covered in the standard rigging. Multiple pockets, piggy-back mag pouch on the holster, and a pocket on either side.
Adjustable to fit most sizes, the mesh webbing will give maximum ventilation for aggressive activities. Velcro closes everything up, and the vest is adjustable for body shape as well as fitting. Great vest for a terrific price.
